The day we met Naomi Faith.

After waiting in the govenment office we were ushered into a side room.

there was a buss that “the babies are here!”

The babies had been bused in 5 hours

We had asked about seeing their orphanage

the govt said no.

we have since been told that it has been torn down and rebuilt.

The moment had come.

We exchanged cameras with another couple

Our name was called first!

Chen Hui Yuan!  Jones!  Chen Hui Yuan!

I recognized her Chinese name.

We squeezed forward through the door to the next room

reaching for Naomi Faith

we just had to check her out!

the feeling was unlike any feel I had ever experience.

So unlike birthing a child in the hospital.

It seemed like a present.

a gift.

It is the most amazing experience,

to have a total stranger hand you a CHILD and to know that from now on

the CHILD is yours.

You realize immediately that this child has NO ONE, but YOU!

It’s what brought me to tears.

You are their advocate

A helpless child that has waited for you.

She needed to check us out too!one thing I will never forget about mimi:

ALL of the other girls were screaming, crying, terrified!  I was prepared for this!  I knew that that’s what happens.

Nope.not mimi.

She was giddy.

this was our “gothcha day”

the first of 6 so far.

and this is how we spent our 17 days in China.

Mimi was 8 months old.

She weighed just over 11 lbs.

She was crawling, sitting up and pulling up to a stand.

I was shocked.

She was SO determined to get to where she wanted to go.

And that is still today one word that would describe mimi

stay tuned…

Thanks for sharing all of this! I love hearing all about your journey to MiMi.
I read these verses this morning.
“Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts Himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord id a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.”
    Isaiah 30:18
Hoping you have a great day today! Thankful for you!
