from Chris

4 Jun

Good morning.  This is Chris…

I am not really sure how to start this entry…there is so much that is running through my mind so bear with me.

FULL.  That is the word that comes to mind right now…

When i see my little lainee my heart b r e a k s….I wish so much that i could give you a good report for lainee this morning.  I wish I could say she is doing so much better.  I wish I could say that we have the answers for the problems we have been dealing with.  I cant.

There are some things that “look” better, but that is due to all the tubs and bags and other things that are hooked up to her right now…

On the positive side – She stopped bleeding internally and they have reduced her blood pressure meds some.

On a much more positive note – GOD KNOWS.  What we don’t know, He knows.  When we aren’t working, He is.  When we are sleeping, He isn’t.  (Thank you Dave Helm for reminding this to us…more encouraging than you know).

There are lots of things that we would like to know, but we just dont.  We are going to meet with the Kidney specialist…there are unexplainable problems that have come up recently that concern them.  We are going to meet with Endo and Gastro again.  We have a number of tests that have been taken that we are waiting for results.  We should know some more things today and tomorrow from those tests…

This has been a pretty hard process.  However, in this process, the Lord is drawing us to Him in such a sweet way.  I went to bed last night on about 40 hours of being awake…mentally, emotionally, physically – EXHAUSTED.  Spiritually – growing.  Our prayer is that God and only God is glorified in this whole process.  We have so much to be thankful for…I pray she is better…I pray she heals soon…I pray her little tummy stops hurting…I pray she can rest better…I pray the medical team learns…I pray, I pray, I pray. I do know this…God has a perfect plan and He knows.

To Him be all praise, honor and glory.

we will try to keep you all posted as we learn things….Thank you all for your letters, emails, stopping over, texts, calls…so encouraging.

Blessings to you all.

Lainee and your family have been in my prayers, and continue to be. I keep thinking about this poem right now.

    Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
    when I was suffering from
    anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,
    “You promised me Lord,
    that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
    there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?”

    The Lord replied,
    “The times when you have
seen only one set of footprints,
    is when I carried you.”
    Mary Stevenson

May your whole family feel the loving arms of our Lord carrying you.

Thank you for updating; we’re checking your blog several times a day. These are beautiful, God-glorifying, encouraging, heart-wrenching posts, and it is so clear the Lord is with you. You are walking through the fire, and you are not burning. You have built your house on the Rock, and through the deluge, your house is standing firm! It is a blessing to everybody to see you all walking through this with Jesus. We are lifting you up in prayer (remember Moses, during the battle, how when he was too tired to keep his staff raised, Aaron held his arm up for him? Ex.17:11-13. That’s us, the body of Christ, for you all.)

    “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;

    and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;

when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,

and the flame shall not consume you.” Isaiah 43:2

Have been following your blog for about the last 2 years. When I ‘stopped by (the blog) the other day, my heart broke to learn what little Lainee and all of you are going through. I now pray that God provides the answers, so that Lainee can get better. If it is any comfort, several years ago (since which time many more medical advances have been made) a friend’s son suddenly became very, very ill and was found to be in complete liver failure, with the bleeding. He too was treated at Childrens Memorial (now Lurie) and following very, very major surgery-12 years later, he is a very active & healthy young man. It was not an easy journey, but for some reason, God also tested the faith of this family. Likewise, as you have recognized, we don’t know why God has chosen this path for Lainee, but she & your family are being supported by his arms. So thankful that Lainee, through her adoption by your family, now also knows about Jesus, His love for her and that no matter what God’s plan is, Lainee will always be safe in His arms. Will continue to pray so that Lainee is kept comfortable and her tummy pain lessens. Pam (lives in Flossmoor and I’m working just a few blocks away from Lurie. Although we have not met, but since I am just blocks from the hospital, If there is anything I can do please do contact me)

Praying for you all. Your faithfulness is an encouragement to others…your testimony is already at work for those with less faith. I pray for healing, strength, and comfort from the holy one.

“He healed many with various diseases”. Mark 1:34

Please Lord heal Lainee! And heal the hearts of those who hear her story.

hey guys. checking your blog often for updates and praying without ceasing.
a thought for your weary morning. awesome bonding in process over there… while you wait for her body to heal you can remind yourself that every time you lift the straw to her lips you are healing her heart. every time you fluff the pillow, adjust the blankets, reposition her for comfort you are helping her heart heal and telling her she is loved and cherished. so crawl in that bed and spoon with her. wipe the tears. stroke her hair. intense love in action. keep up the amazing love. we are all cheering, praying, loving and waiting with you!

Please know I am praying for you throughout the day. I am sorry for the hardness and anxiety and pain of this. But I also can’t help praising Jesus for letting Lainee rest in your arms and care….who could love her more? So humbled and encouraged by your desire to give God the glory…..what a gift to us through Lainees life. Looking with anticipation for what only God can do. May you be strengthened through the prayers of those who desire to carry a part of you burden.

This song by Aaron Keyes has been an encouragement to me in difficult times. Lots of prayers for you here in Salt Lake City.

There is strength within the sorrow, There is beauty in our tears
You meet us in our mourning, With a love that casts out fear
You are working in our waiting, Sanctifying us
When beyond our understanding, You’re teaching us to trust
Your plans are still to prosper, You have not forgotten us
You’re with us through the fire and the flood
    Faithful forever, Perfect in love
    You are sovereign over us
Even what the enemy means for evil
You turn it for our good and for your glory
Even in the valley you are faithful
You’re working for our good and for your glory.

Chris and Laura, know our family is praying along side of you. We will continue to pray for God’s hand in and amongst this, for His healing for Lainee and for His comfort and peace for you and your family. May you be strengthened in His power. Love – The Lanham’s

Just wanted to add a voice to the chorus of those already lifting you up in prayer. Our youngest daughter was Lainee’s “buddy” at WCGS when she was in fourth grade and Lainee was in kindergarten. Our family is praying for yours, and trusting in our loving and sovereign Father to hold you in the palm of his hand. Blessings – the Kopchicks

    Jeremiah 46:27
“Do not be afraid, Jacob my servant; do not be dismayed, Israel. I will surely save you out of a distant place, your descendants from the land of their exile. Jacob will again have peace and security, and no one will make him afraid.

  15. Jeff and Laura Jones June 4, 2013 at 2:47 pm #

    Chris –

Laura and I want to let you know that we are also among the many believers who are lifting Lainee and your family before the Lord in prayer. We know the blessing and joy of having these gifts of God. How each one turns our focus away from self so that we can love and nurture them for the glory of God.
I am confident that you are in His will as you face this very difficult time. I love 1 John 4:18 although I am reluctant to share a verse that says we should not fear. I know that I would be fearful. I pray that God’s love will continue to sustain the Jones family. I pray that His peace will be with you. I pray that Lainee will know the unfailing presence of Jesus and that He will bring comfort to her little body.

I may have never met your family in person but your family has been constantly on my mind and in my prayers these past few days. Since I have no children of my own yet I cannot imagine what you are going through. Praise God for his infinite wisdom and how he NEVER turns from us! I praise him for holding your little girl and for caring for the family. May you draw ever nearer to him through this scary situation. I pray peace and blessings on little Lainee. May she rest knowing that God is holding her securely in his hands and is not going anywhere. May God’s will be accomplished here and any attacks by the enemy be stopped.
