Today Luke had a(nother) birthday!!
Shortly after Luke came home last fall we celebrated his 11th(??) birthday
Not really knowing him, we chose one of the two estimated birthdays that Ethiopia gave us.
But it has seemed that Luke has settled in nicely at his school,
just finishing up 3rd grade, with friends who are 9 and 10
He has asked several time throughout the last months,
“mom!!! you speak to me how old I am. Maybe Connie, (mama of orphan home) she don’t know.”
I’d say, “Luke, I have no idea how old you are!”
Kids in orphanages are usually not aware of how old they are and often don’t celebrate birthdays. None of our adopted kids celebrated birthdays before they came home (it makes celebrating them SO MUCH FUN!!)
We got a hand-wrist xray a few weeks ago and met with the endocrinologist who said,
Luke is 10.0 right on the dot, according to bone age estimation.
So, I remembered that the other birthday given in the paper work was June 12, so….
Happy officially 10th birthday dear Luke!

Zinnia and Luke blew up all the bike tires for me, that is a BIG job. They work well together. It’s so cute to hear them chatter back and forth it their little accents. precious.
Luke and Zinnia have really enjoyed each other lately, since school has been out.
Everyone enjoys Zinnia. I think Luke respects her, she’s nice and always thoughtful.
They work well together and never fight or argue. They are a blessing to each other, and really about the same age since we switch Zinnia back a year
(ok, i know it sounds crazy!)
I’m thankful for these two buddies.
God has blessed them with each other.
We had a “party” at Crazybounc*
Called my sister (who just got back from ethiopia!!) and whamo! instant
Party!
Cousins

my sister’s 4 children, number 5 is baby Zeke who they just adopted from ethiopia last week. Embassy appointment happens first then they can bring him home!
So thankful for FAMILY. HE places the lonely in FAMILY. HE has named our FAMILY.
Believing every child deserves a family~
Happy Birthday, Luke!
